Run to Rest

If you are reading this, You and I have been chosen specifically to live during this time and in this age, believed by many as well as myself is the time in which Jesus refers to as the ‘end of the age’ in Matthew 24: 3-14 which is the end of this life. The end of this life into eternity. What is eternity? It is overwhelming for the finite mind of a human being to think of living life eternal and yet in a million years from now each human being who has ever existed will still exist. A million years from those million years all who has ever been will still be…, forever and ever. Scripture say’s that eternity is written on the hearts of mankind, so somewhere deep inside or at the forefront of our consciences we know that what we know as ‘death’ is just a transition from here to eternity.

This transition I write of is a transition to eternal life, or eternal death. Not death as ceasing to exist, death which is eternal separation from God (Yahweh), thee true and living God. The God of the bible. The One who sent and gave His only begotten Son Jesus (Yeshua), the Messiah, as a sacrifice for the sin of all mankind. Those who have and will believe on this truth, by faith, are forgiven of all sin and made spiritually alive and have right standing with God again. Contrary to popular belief, there are not many ways, individual truths, or life sources to God. There is only ONE way to God the Father and that is through faith in Jesus the Christ. Faith in the cross.

Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one come to the Father except through Me.”

Why am I writing this? I am writing this to proclaim truth to some and remind others that through the chaos that we have around us we were specifically designed to be here and to be at rest in the Lord Jesus Christ. May this blog find you in harmony, unity, and undisturbedness (which are spiritual characteristics of the peace of God). In this age you and I have been chosen to live in and proclaim the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, it is vital that we walk accordingly and pursue all endeavors with and in His peace. Take a moment to declare this over yourself.

“I walk in harmony, unity, and undisturbedness which is the peace of God, in Jesus’ name!”

Courtney and I have experienced seasons of unrest and lack of peace, but we have endeavored NOT to participate in those seasons ever again. It takes discipline and commitment, but thank God, His GRACE is sufficient. A major key is, “don’t let a day become a season.” To live in peace, we must learn to be quick to repent, quick to forgive, and quick to cast all our cares on the Lord. Remember Jesus said His yoke is easy and His burden is light (see Matthew 11:28-30).  We can see in the scripture I just referenced in the book of Matthew, the statement is prefaced with Jesus telling ALL those who labor and are heavy laden to come to Him. In coming to Him, Jesus said He would give us rest!

Satan has distracted many for one reason, to steal the Word of God from being rooted. This causes people, even Ministers, to not go to Jesus… Laboring and weariness is rooted in a works (natural), religious mentality, and it will never satisfy. Rest and having peace are rooted in a faith (spiritual), relational mentality, and it is the only place we can truly be satisfied. Don’t be over worked, the flesh will fight against the spirit for rest, and will win. This is a strategy that stunts our spiritual growth by keeping us from going to Jesus. Now that we can see this, as soon as we notice heaviness or lack of peace, RUN TO JESUS! RUN TO REST! Go to the Word of God and dump the heaviness and walk in peace, amen!
