VISION, BELIEVING, SPEAKING, RECEIVING – Keys to Faith Living

Our family sat down and wrote our vision list out together and I kept hearing in my spirit, “Hold-fast to your confession of faith”.  If we are to believe God for miracles and see our prayers answered, we must hold-fast to what the Lord has promised us in His Word.

Hebrews 10:23 reads, “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.”

Proverbs 18:21 says, “The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”

If we take things to the Lord in prayer, fully trusting Him, we shall see the things we have petitioned for come to pass. He is faithful to His Word! Often, we see our prayers uprooted by not watching the words that come out of our mouth. The opposite of holding fast is letting go. Jesus said, “…The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” -(Matthew 26:41). The flesh will always revert to exterior sight, but our spirit is willing to always be led by faith. To follow the Word that comes from our inner man. Even when we are tempted to doubt, we must CHOOSE to SPEAK life. That Life is the Word, and speaking the Word leads to life!

Take a moment to really think about this; are you speaking life or death over what you’re believing for? Are you feeding your faith to stay fully convinced that what God has promised you will come to pass?

James 1:6-7 says, “But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.”

First things first, you MUST settle in your heart that God is wonderful and a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him -(Hebrews 11:6). You must know in your heart that every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights and He does NOT change! -(James 1:17).

I was sitting in a hospital chair watching my son drift off to sleep. We had just walked through the most amazing encounter with the Lord that I’ve ever witnessed in my life. Not only did the Lord bring my baby from death to life within seconds, Cash, had just told us all that he had personally encountered the Lord. The presence of God was so strong in that hospital room, we knew that not only had heaven touched earth, but Cash touched heaven. His vitals were finally stable and the doctors and nurses that were once just running frantically into our room were now back to their normal work routines.

I cracked open my Bible and the Lord took me to Matthew 8:13. “…Go back home. Because you believed, it has happened. And the young servant was healed in that same hour.”

This was a major an attack on our son’s life and I knew he WAS coming home. I envisioned driving home with him buckled in the back seat. I went home for a few hours to spend time with our daughter and grab a few things for another overnight stay at the hospital. When I was alone, I heard the Lord say to me so strongly, “We are in the clear.”  Do you know what this meant to me as a mother?! No more surprises. No more doctors coming in with concerned looks on their faces not wanting to tell me the reports of ultrasounds and x-rays. NO, IT WAS FINISHED. It was DONE thanks to the blood of Jesus and the promise of the Word!

The next morning in the hospital, Cash woke up and looked over at me. His face was swollen. It didn’t even look like him. His hands and feet were all puffy. Immediately the enemy came with thoughts. This isn’t good. Something is really wrong. He’s not healed. You can’t tell the doctor, what if you get another bad report…. What do you do with those thoughts? YOU SPEAK LIFE! I opened up my mouth and said, “NO, The Lord told me we are in the clear and Matthew 8:13 said, that because we believed it has happened my son is healed, and we are going home!”

Soon after the doctor came in, I quickly told her that Cash was really swollen. (ALWAYS do the opposite of what the enemy says – let him know you are in faith and not subject to the spirit of fear’s tactics). She said, “He’s hydrated! We can take him off of all IV’s. His body is recovering and doing what it’s supposed to. He doesn’t need any more fluids.” Take THAT you lyin’ devil!

They wanted to do a small procedure and needed to put Cash under anesthesia before we left to go home. Cash was a little nervous and said, “Mom, I’m going to wake up right?” I reassured him that the Lord had healed his body and it would be over before he knew it. Not long after he went under, a nurse pulled me from the waiting room and put me in a small office. She let me know that everything went great and they were waiting for him to wake up. Right after she left an alarm right outside my room started screaming (here comes the enemy… we soon learn he’s so predictable and always lying). “That alarm is for your son. All the staff is running to his room because he won’t wake up…” I OPENED MY MOUTH and said, “NO, The Lord told me we’re in the clear – Matthew 8:13 says, that because we believed it has happened, my son is healed, and I am taking him home!” About 2 minutes later I heard a nurse apologizing to everyone saying that someone accidentally tripped the alarm.

My favorite car ride was bringing Cash home, back up the mountain, praising and thanking the Lord the whole way. HE who had promised had been so faithful to us. Not only do we have the most amazing personal testimony of His healing power, but our son had a personal encounter with the Lord that has changed his life forever.

I encourage you to continually feed your faith! Endeavor this year and moving forward, to fill yourself up with the Word. Know all of the Father’s promises. This equips us to fight the good fight of faith. Ready to SPEAK the Word in faith, full of joy and peace knowing we have the victory that overcomes this world. Hold-fast to your confession! Tap into that bulldog tenacity and DON’T LET GO! If you want to see the things your heart desires in 2021, watch your mouth! Speak to thoughts of doubt and unbelief with the Word!

Lastly, we encourage you to write the things down that you are believing the Lord for. Make them plain and easy to read so you can run with the vision! (Habakkuk 2:1-2) We wrote healing scriptures that the Lord gave us for Cash and taped them all over his hospital room. We would speak them aloud and he would say them as well! We kept the vision of the Lord, supernaturally healing him, in front of us every second of the day. We held fast and saw the victory, and no matter what comes, we declare you will too. Let us be like Abraham,

Romans 4:20, “Abraham never wavered in believing God’s promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to our God.”

In Him,

-Courtney
